The Starvin' Chillin' On Lincoln Drive

As the first Guild Wars 2 Beta weekend event comes to a close we are, well.. we are tired. We tried to jam the most into the few days that Anet has allowed us to roam in this new world of Guild Wars 2. The time spent was naturally not enough to do all the things we set out to do leaving us wanting another trip. But what do we take away? First impressions? Likes, dislikes, things we would like to see polished up before release. Many angles and opinions will be sure to surface in the coming days as to just how did it stack up against the Guild Wars 1 franchise. Is this, Guild Wars 250 years later? Quite a few of us set out to answer this burning question. Members both past and present from MAFB as well as Wolves and others were present. The NDA is lifted, this is my review, my 2 cents worth to pass along to our gaming family. The good the bad and the ugly. 

Most of us participated in this weekend's beta, with varying impressions. Obvious technical issues aside, let's discuss the pro's and cons of PvE, WvW, and what suggestions you made to ArenaNet during your gameplay.  Click through to read my impression on character creation and questing in the human starting area.

In response to ArenaNet's blog regarding server choices and transfers, MAFB has decided on the Sea of Sorrows server. Be sure to select this server when the option presents itself. We also drafted a walk through to get you into game with the least amount of hassle possible.

 All members of MAFB are strongly encouraged to attend our first townhall meeting for Guild Wars 2.  The meeting will be held at 6pm PST/7pm MST/ 8pm CST/9pm EST on C3.  For those who haven't installed the software click here.

Once installed, add the "SCA Channel". Your browser will say it needs to run a program to active the link, allow this to happen. At this time there's no password on the channel.

Seven years already...what!? Man I feel old. Like 55 monk old.

We have two parties to hit this weekend, you old timers you, so break out your back support cushions,  and your vibrating massage footrests, it's going to be a long weekend. First up, Guild Wars 2 beta (finally!), the second a 7th year anniversary bonanza in Guild Wars 1. Remember, never to drink rice wine and roller beetle.
